About STEP
The STEP Program is a job transition program for 18-22 year old students with an IEP. Transition planning is a process to help students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) decide what they want to do after high school. It also helps them figure out how to get there. The purpose is to help teens prepare to be independent young adults.An PPT decides on a placement in the STEP Program. Also, STEP is an acronym for "Student Transition Educational Pathways". It is located in Hartford Public High School, 55 Forest St. 06105.
