My favorite..... images so far!
After some big obstacles and changes in my life at the beginning of this year, I was hungry to satisfy my creative needs. Little did I know that the perfect subject has been staring me in the face... Old Sturbridge Village! I always loved the village and somehow it inspires my creative molecules every time I visit. This year after having a conversation with one of the interpreters I decided to pick up the "internet" and contact Kim Adams, Director of Volunteer services at OS. Before I knew it I was working at the Asa Knight Store! As I said before this year started with some pretty difficult challenges and drastic changes, but having the opportunity of volunteering at the village gave me a new lease on life. I love working with such a great group of volunteers and staff members and of course I love the great visitors that come seeking a time-traveling, fun-filled, historic hands-on experience.
Everyday I'm somehow connected to the village, whether I'm volunteering, home studying about the trade triangle, taking pictures, editing pictures, blogging or just bragging to strangers about it. One thing is for sure I love being part of Old Sturbridge Village.
I've had many creative projects in my life, but being a part of the subject (Old Sturbridge Village) and growing along with it has giving me a perspective unlike anything else I ever felt. For the first time in my life I haven't worried about whether I'm good enough as an artist or not. The personal satisfaction I'm generating from this project is beyond anything else I have creatively been part of. The more I learn the more I realize I don't know, and that magical loop is divine.
I wanted to extend my gratitude to some of the wonderful people at Old Sturbridge Village like Will and Jean Contino, Tom Kelleher, Kim Adams, Monique Schlegel, Lisa Burbank, Dick Schulze, Rhys Simmons, Sandie Innamorati, Justin Kennick, Christine Bates and so many others.
